In this book, the author takes the view that just because there are now plenty of technical indicators to help forex traders with market analysis, it is a big mistake to ignore fundamental analysis, which focuses on events and issues that affect the markets on a daily basis. While technical analysis can be as simple as putting the right software and apps on your devices, and learning to monitor them, fundamental analysis involves paying attention to changes in the economic and political climate that will impact currencies around the world.
Dave Matias covers macro and micro events, important trading concepts in the global market, and fundamental trading myths. He explains why fundamentals drive the forex market and how to build a trading strategy around that, regardless of other indicators and techniques that you may be using.
On the positive side, this book gives a strong overview for new and inexperienced forex traders, and may also be useful to traders who know all about technical indicators but are unsure about exactly how fundamentals work.
The book is, however, quite short and fairly basic. It will not satisfy the highly experienced trader who wants an in-depth discussion of every aspect of fundamental analysis. It is also fairly limited when it comes to practical examples. There are examples of how this concept works in practice, but they are thin on the ground and, due to the short length of the book, can’t possibly cover every aspect of fundamental analysis.
