Forex Price Action Scalping: An In-Depth Look into the Field of Professional Scalping

By Bob Volman

Synopsis:

Scalping is the sort of trading technique that many traders know about, but which fewer have actually integrated into their day-to-day trading strategies. In this book, Bob Volman manages to give a professional, detailed and often chart-based explanation of how scalping works – and how a trader at any level can incorporate it into their trading plans.

Review:

By explaining in great depth exactly what scalping is and how it can benefit a forex trader, Bob Volman’s book does a great service to those traders who practice – or want to learn to practice – this trading technique.

Volman doesn’t spare any details, and he’s happy to explain a wide range of the different aspects of scalping – including ideal entries and exits, price action principles and much more. He also offers tips to traders on an assortment of related topics, such as how to keep good records when scalping and how to remain in a positive and trade-friendly frame of mind.

At 360 pages, this is a very long and detailed book – so it’s not for the faint-hearted. It’s also not ideal for those who prefer entirely text-based explanations as its pages are filled with charts and other visual aids.

For a trading student who is still learning about all the different available methods of trading, meanwhile, it may be worth either reading a wider primer first or remembering that there’s much more to trading than scalping. While Volman makes a good case for the technique, scalping also has its downsides – so be careful not to get swept up in the author’s positive portrayal.
