A Beginner’s Guide to Day Trading Online

By Toni Turner

Synopsis:

With over 14 years of industry experience as a trader/investor and as a media commentator, Toni Turner brings a wealth of experience to her newly updated version of her now classic text. In it, Turner provides an approachable introduction to an industry with a notoriously high barrier to entry. Although at times somewhat basic, and now slightly dated, Turner, covers the foundational topics in just enough detail that all traders should find something of value.

Review:

Although at times, it may be highly profitable, the stock market can also be unpredictable, volatile and highly tumultuous. With this in mind, Toni Turner offers up a beginner’s guide to trading in what may often appear to , hostile to turning a profit. To this end, Turner covers a range of essential topics, including the decimalization of stock prices, various financial instruments (such as exchange-traded funds and CFDs), how to properly formulate precision entries and exits in a trading strategy, and how to compete with the new type of trader in the modern trading world.

The range of topics covered by Turner is quite impressive, and the author manages to pack in a surprising amount of information given the relatively short size. The information is presented lucidly and in easy-to-digest chunks, which makes it the perfect text for newer traders, with just enough to keep more advanced ones engaged.

Readers of this forex book review should, however, bear in mind that this book is now over a decade old and some of the information may be somewhat dated, particularly as it relates to the regulatory conditions of the stock market. Having said that, many of the fundamentals that Turner covers continue to form the informational foundation of any trader’s investment strategy, which ensures the continued relevance of A Beginner’s Guide to Day Trading Online.
