In The Trading Cockpit with the O’Neil Disciples: Strategies that Made Us 18,000% in the Stock Market

By Gil Morales and Chris Kacher

Synopsis

This book sets out to invite the reader into the Wall Street world of the legendary trader William O’Neil, whose successes inspired a series of traders who called them disciples of O’Neil, and looked to show the world how so many of their investing successes were achieved. Ideal for someone looking for something a different, or who prefers anecdotal experience to learning rote from text.

Review

Not all books will start with such a determined title, although the promise is not to tell the reader that they can make this much, which is a saving grace. Those who say they can guarantee they can make people money usually rely on a very specific set of circumstances, and it can easily go wrong.

Instead, Morales and Kacher aim to show the investing world how they managed to achieve long-term stock market success, learning from what they call one of the best in the business in William O’Neil.

With esteemed prowess from the top, the authoring pair delve into how it is possible to spot the kinds of gaps in the stock market that can take someone from a hobby trader to someone doing it full time with a respectable income.

The focus here is on how these types of trades can be copied and implemented into the strategy of the reader, finding ways to weave it into current trading intentions and map it onto their own habits, rather than the authors.

It offers what they term a wealth of exciting new trading strategies, and provides step-by-step coverage to see how they did it, and what can be learnt from it. Rather than running out the same old tips that worked decades ago, this offers a fresh insight with the same approach of achieving big gains in the stock market.
