Stockland is one of the world’s largest property development and investment management groups and was established in 1952. Stockland’s assets extend to retail, commercial and industrial investment properties throughout Australia, Europe and the UK. In addition to this Stockland has a UK based property company, Australian retirement communities portfolio and an extensive Australian land bank and development pipeline.

The Australian division of real estate includes 43 shopping centres, 37 office buildings, 39 industrial properties all valued at an incredible $6.8 billion. 65% of Stocklands operating profits are derived from the Australian real estate division.

In the UK, Stockland acquired Halladale Group Plc in May 2007 which was a significant milestone for the company and has since been rebranded as Stockland UK. This arm of the company has $2.2 billion in property funds under management with an investment property portfolio valued at $60.5 million.

On the Retirement communities side of the business, Stockland is a long established residential land bank and developer. In 2007 Stockland purchased the Australian Retirement Communities with a residential land inventory of $2.9 Billion. The retirement communities business contributed to 35% of operating profits as of June 30 2007.
